Japan confirms first death of patient with COVID-19 —Health Minister
TOKYO — Japan on Thursday confirmed its first death of a person with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), Health Minister Katsunobu Kato said.
The victim was a woman in her 80s living in Kanagawa prefecture, which borders on Tokyo, Kato told a news conference.
However, he cautioned that it was not clear if the virus caused her death.
"The relationship between the new coronavirus and the death of the person is still unclear," Kato said at briefing, according to Agence France-Presse
