Just this early days of September's 4th week. Mainstream media platforms has dispersed ahead than the news TV channels, about what happened to the aspiring PMA cadet 4th Class Darwin Dormitorio from Cagayan de Oro. He's been buried on Wednesday September 25, 2019.
The young and patriotic Filipino's body, as per medico legal , reveals that he suffered internal hemorrhage and the injuries are most observable on his skull and stomach that has been repeatedly hit by a blunt object.
On Tuesday, the PMA said it has relieved four cadets: 3rd class Shalimar Imperial, 3rd class Felix Lumbag, 1st class Axl Rey Sanupao, and 2nd class Nickoel Termil. Whom are responsible for Dormitorio's death. And that being the reason is the missing boots of Sanupao which he entrusted to Dormitorio.
Former PNP Chief Bato de la Rosa, and current Senator, has spoken in defense that hazing in PMA is what made him tough then and now. And if hazing is a norm in PMA, what more in academic institutions in all of Philippines.
If the supposed purpose of hazing is to toughen up our future soldiers, to bolden them of their nerves, their resolve to fight true and faithful, and accustom them to smoldering intensity of the battlefield... how is that supposed to be a practical method when this issue with the death of a cadet is only over a missing boots??? Though it is an inconvenience to cadet Sanupao, that apparel can be replaced easily but never is a man's life who has passion to defend his homeland.
