Tutorial New feature "alert count" - unread alert count in browser tab title

This feature displays a counter in the page title (that is, in the browser tab for the page) showing how many unread alerts and conversations the user has, if any. This does not affect server load as it is a purely client-side operation.

Most web users like to keep a few tabs open of their favorite websites and forums. With this feature you can quickly glance at your tabs and see if there are any new alerts. Tabs are updated automatically even when you're viewing other websites.

The image below shows PHCorner in the tab bar, the (10) indicates the total unread conversation and/or alert.

  • Alerts updated in browser tab even if tab is not in focus.
  • Text based alerts work with all popular browsers, computers, tablets and mobile devices.
  • Updates occur every 15 seconds.
  • Shows Inbox and Alerts combined as one number.
  • This feature will only run if JavaScript is enabled.
  • Fully compatible with our Shoutbox "New chat message alert" upload_2014-8-28_2-44-55.png
